Orlando Ballet School

Orlando Ballet School classes begin with the Enrollment Division and progress to the Pre-Professional Division. Each level follows a structured syllabus that recognizes cognitive, emotional and physical development. Students aged three to six are place by age while students aged seven and up are auditioned and placed by knowledge, ability and potential. All students receive bi-annual progress reports and are advanced only when the teaching team believes more advanced work will be beneficial to the student. 2011-12 Class Schedules

Pre-Professional Division ::
Orlando Ballet School takes a beginning student to a professional level of dancing in the professional division. Students being at the age of seven to nine in Preparatory, which introduces the standard class structure of barre and center work. Emphasis is placed on discipline, musicality, and technique as the students move toward professional dance employment. Students are placed in an appropriate level by a placement class or teacher recommendation.

Preparatory Level
Students at this level take three classes a week: two ballet and one additional class in character. The dress code for these classes dictates raspberry tank leotard with the OBS logo, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair in a bun (no bangs) for the ladies. Ladies will also need a black character skirt and black character shoes. Gentlemen will wear black tights, white T-shirt, white ballet shoes with white socks.

Level 1
Students at this level take three classes a week: two ballet and one additional class in character. The dress code for these classes dictates a red camisole leotard with the OBS logo, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair in a bun (no bangs) for the ladies. Ladies will also need a black character skirt and black character shoes. Gentlemen will wear black tights, white T-shirt, white ballet shoes with white socks.

Level 2
Students at this level take four classes a week: three ballet and one additional class in character. The dress code for these classes dictates a red camisole leotard with the OBS logo, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair in a bun (no bangs) for the ladies. Ladies will also need a black character skirt and black character shoes. Gentlemen will wear black tights, white T-shirt, white ballet shoes with white socks.

Level 3
Students at this level take five classes a week including ballet and character. Pointe work is also introduced at this level. The dress code for these classes dictates an ultraviolet camisole leotard with OBS logo, pink tights, pink ballet or pointe shoes, hair in a bun (no bangs) for the ladies. Ladies will also need a black character skirt and black character shoes. Gentlemen will wear black tights, white T-shirt, white ballet shoes with white socks.

Level 4
Students at this level take at least five classes a week including ballet, pointe, variations, and character. The dress code for these classes dictates an ultraviolet camisole leotard with OBS logo, pink tights, pink ballet or pointe shoes, hair in a bun (no bangs) for the ladies. Ladies will also need a black character skirt and black character shoes. Gentlemen will wear black tights, white T-shirt, white ballet shoes with white socks.

Level 5
Students at this level take ten classes a week including ballet, pointe, partnering, character, and pilates. The dress code for these classes dictates a black camisole leotard with OBS logo, pink tights, pink ballet or pointe shoes, hair in a bun (no bangs) for the ladies. Ladies will also need a black character skirt and black character shoes. Gentlemen will wear black tights, white T-shirt, white ballet shoes with white socks.

Level 6
Students at this level take twelve classes a week including ballet, pointe, partnering, character, and pilates. The dress code for these classes dictates a black camisole leotard with OBS logo, pink tights, pink ballet or pointe shoes, hair in a bun (no bangs) for the ladies. Ladies will also need a black character skirt and black character shoes. Gentlemen will wear black tights, white T-shirt, white ballet shoes with white socks.

Level 7
Students at this level take twelve classes a week including ballet, pointe, partnering, character, and pilates. The dress code for these classes dictates a black camisole leotard with OBS logo, pink tights, pink ballet or pointe shoes, hair in a bun (no bangs) for the ladies. Ladies will also need a black character skirt and black character shoes. Gentlemen will wear black tights, white T-shirt, white ballet shoes with white socks.

Boys/Men
In addition to their regular class schedule, boys and men will take additional classes as listed below. The school director may assign supplementary classes. There are no additional fees for the Boys classes; students are responsible for all fees for the level in which they are placed.
